Dear Mayor Bloomberg:
I grew up as a baby boomer. As boomers we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or
drank while they were pregnant. We ate blue cheese
dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes. As infants we were put to sleep on our stomachs in baby cribs covered with bright colored
lead-based paints.
There were no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets. We rode our bikes wearing baseball caps, not helmets. As infants & children we rode in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, and no air bags.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. We shared one
soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from
this. We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon, and drank Kool-Aid
made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight. WHY? Because we were always outside playing...that’s
why!
So, Mr. Mayor, instead of taking away some of the few things that give people joy, why not focus on encouraging something positive! Do you really think that limiting the size of a soft drink is going to make anyone's life better?
Kind of makes me want to go get a Big Mac and a large Coke!!!
